You don’t HAVE to forgive people that have harmed you ever like that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard in my entire fucking life.
If YOU feel like you need to forgive somebody because that’s what you need to heal and move on from whatever they did, then go ahead and do it. But don’t you ever sit here and tell people that they must automatically forgive folks so they can be the bigger person.
Fuck. That. Shit.
Something for my feminist theory class.
I’d love to see the reactions to this from a crowd. I can kind of imagine a quiet, solemn understanding from the ladies and a lot of confused questions from the guys… If my memory of art school serves me.
In 9th grade English we read Laurie Halse Anderson’s “Speak”. For those of you who haven’t read it, the author makes it abundantly clear that the teenage protagonist, Melinda, was raped, before the protagonist actually says it.
Our English teacher asked the boys in the class what happened to Mel. They came up with the most ridiculous answers. Every girl in the class just knew.
This just goes to show…
Not all men menace women, but yes all women have felt menaced by a man.
Every girl understands this because every girl knows the fear implicit in this image.
guys remember when Lemony Snicket filled an entire page with evers?
Who cares about the page filled with evers? Lemony Snicket just made two whole pages black.
He don’t give a shit.
And that time he repeated an entire passage about deja vu to give the reader deja vu
What a serious of unnecessary events
I hate when i lose something and my parents says “well i guess you didnt care about it enough” like you’ve lost me in a grocery store before so
‘Men get raped and molested,’ should be a whole sentence. If you have to tack on the word ‘too,’ then you’re using the experience of male victims to silence females instead of giving them their own space.
More Medusa and P-Chan from Otakon, probably the last set I’ll post. Thanks to ginauwc for taking the bottom right picture :)
aaah I remember Medusa from little petshop of horrors… beloved but a tragic character.
